Hello!
I am Melanie Burgess. I am a resident of a small rural town in Western Maryland. I have been happily married to my husband David for 16 years. We share 4 children and 3 beautiful granddaughters. I am the author and illustrator of 2 award winning books and am currently working on my third book entitled "Fingerprints of God."
I was raised in a small town called Westernport. It is a quiet rural town nestled in the Georges Creek Valley of Allegany County. My parents are David and Sandy Wade and I grew up with an older sister, Bethany and younger brother Kenny. I graduated high school in 1989.

In 2012 my husband and I made a life changing decision. We felt God tugging at our hearts to go to Charis Bible College in Colorado Springs. We knew we were not called to pastor, but to get a better understanding of the word of God and a deeper relationship in Christ. After praying about this for sometime we sold our home in Keyser WV and moved to Colorado. God moved in miraculous ways to sell our house, help us move and to provide for our family while we attended college. We graduated in 2014.

After graduating we returned to our home area and got jobs. In 2016 I was listening to a teaching from Andrew Wommack entitled "What's in your hand" Andrew talked about God using your talents and gifts he had given you to give you creative ideas. I stopped what I was doing and prayed and asked God for a creative idea to help prosper us.

The following year my husband and I got a volunteer camp host position at a state park campground that I had grown up visiting. We one day visited a program called "Hungry Hungry Hoot Owls". It was at that program that the idea for my first children's book was birthed.

I had always had and ability to draw so I decided to illustrate my book as well. After that book was published I soon got the idea for my second book, "To Be Or Knot To Be'. God was so faithful to answer my prayers. He then gave me the idea for my next upcoming book "Fingerprints of God."

In 2021 David and I bought our forever home back in Westernport, MD.

God has always been so faithful to us. I encourage you to get to know Him through His word, through His son Jesus. He changed my life forever!
